【摘要】:Thisguidemaybeusedbyunits,handlers,andrequestingagencieswhenevaluatingdogresourcesorasabasisforestablishinglocalminimumperformanceguidelinesorstandards.Itissuggested,however,thatunitsandteamsnottraintotheseguidelines,butrathertrainandworkinconditionsrequiringobedienceandagilityskills,thenusetheseguidelinesasauniformmethodofevaluatingprogress.Thisguidedoesnotprovideatheoreticalbasisforhowasearchdogworks,ratheritdescribestheminimumresultsdesired.Eachdogteam,unit,ororganizationwishingtousethisguidehastheresponsibilityofmanagingandadministeringit.Unitsmaywishtouseevaluatorsfromotherunitsororganizations,orrequestassistanceinobtainingqualifiedevaluatorsfromorganizations,suchastheSARDogSectionoftheNationalAssociationofSearchandRescue(NASAR)3ortheAmericanKennelClub(AKC)4.Thisdecision,however,restssolelywiththeindividualteamororganization.Themethodofevaluationalsoisentirelyatthediscretionofeachuserofthisguide.1.1ThisguideisintendedtoprovidevoluntaryuniformguidelinesforobedienceandagilitytrainingforSearchandRescue(SAR)dogsthroughouttheUnitedStates.1.2ThisguideprovidesaminimumsetoftraininggoalsagainstwhichSARdogteamsandorganizationsmayvoluntarilyevaluatetheirowntrainingprograms.1.3ThisguideprovidesameansofdocumentingaminimumstandardforthoseagencieswhorequestSARdogresourcesforSARoperationsandrequiresuchdocumentation.1.4LocalSARdoghandlersandparentorganizationsareresponsiblefortestingandverifyingthatindividualresourcesmeetorexceedtheseguidelines.
