【摘要】:Minimalstentrecoilisadesirablefeatureofastentbecauseitminimizesthemaximumdiametertowhichastentmustbeexpandedtoachieveitsfinalrelaxeddiameter.Astenthavingahighrecoilmustbeexpandedtoagreaterdiametertoachieveitsfinalrelaxeddiameterthanastenthavinglowrecoil.Practically,excessiveexpansionofthevesselintowhichthestentistobeimplantedmaycausetissuedamageresultinginapoorimmediateresultorpoorlong-termoutcome.Stentrecoilisaffectedbyintrinsicpropertiesofthematerialusedtoconstructthestentandthespecificgeometricdesignofthestent;therefore,measuringstentrecoilisanessentialpartofevaluatingthedesign.1.1Thepurposeofthistestmethodistoquantifythepercentagebywhichthediameterofastentdecreasesfromitsexpandeddiameterwhilestillonthedeliveryballoontoitsrelaxeddiameterafterdeflatingtheballoon.Thistestmethodisappropriateforstentsmanufacturedfromamaterialthatisplasticallydeformedwhenthestent''sdiameterisincreasedfromitspredeployedsizetoitspostdeployedsizebymechanicalmeans.Thistestmethodmaybeperformedinairatroomtemperatureunlessthereisaknowntemperaturedependenceofthematerial,inwhichcase,thetemperatureatwhichthetestisconductedshallbestatedinthereport.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
