【摘要】:Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofthesulfatedashfromunusedlubricatingoilscontainingadditivesandfromadditiveconcentratesusedincompounding.Theseadditivesusuallycontainoneormoreofthefollowingmetals:barium,calcium,magnesium,zinc,potassium,sodium,andtin.Theelementssulfur,phosphorus,andchlorinecanalsobepresentincombinedform.Applicationofthistestmethodtosulfatedashlevelsbelow0.02mass%isrestrictedtooilscontainingashlessadditives.Thelowerlimitofthetestmethodis0.005mass%sulfatedash.Note1-Thistestmethodisnotintendedfortheanalysisofusedengineoilsoroilscontaininglead.Neitherisitrecommendedfortheanalysisofnonadditivelubricatingoils,forwhichTestMethodD482canbeused.Note2-Thereisevidencethatmagnesiumdoesnotreactthesameasotheralkalimetalsinthistest.Ifmagnesiumadditivesarepresent,thedataisinterpretedwithcaution.Note3-Thereisevidencethatsamplescontainingmolybdenumcangivelowresultsbecausemolybdenumcompoundsarenotfullyrecoveredatthetemperatureofashing.ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
